Credential decision

Certification is never automatic. The owner verifies every academic, live, portfolio, ethics, and practical requirement before issuing CBRP.

Renewal

Renew every 2 years with 20 approved continuing-education hours, including at least 4 hours in ethics, scope, consent, safety, privacy, or documentation and at least 4 hours in CBRP method, supervised practice, or competency development. Renewal fee: $125. A 90-day grace period follows expiration; the credential becomes INACTIVE when the grace period ends without completed renewal. Reinstatement within 12 months requires all overdue renewal elements, current agreements, and the fee. After 12 months inactive, recertification also requires a refresher review, updated portfolio or practice evidence, and an observed competency check. Administrative and submitted evidence records are retained for 7 years; core credential and status history are retained permanently.
